Paint Correction Guelph
Machine polishing that removes swirl marks and haze and brings the actual gloss back, not a temporary shine from a spray wax.
Paint correction is machine polishing that removes swirl marks, light scratches, and haze from your car's clear coat, restoring the gloss that automated washes and years of wiping down dust gradually strip away. It's most requested by enthusiast owners who want their paint looking the way it did before daily wear took over, but it's just as useful on a daily driver that's never been polished.
One of six services we run across Guelph, Cambridge, Waterloo, and Kitchener. See the full service area for everything else we offer.
What Paint Correction Actually Does
Every wash and wipe-down leaves microscopic scratches in a car's clear coat. Over time those scratches scatter light instead of reflecting it cleanly, which is what makes paint look dull or hazy even when it's clean. Machine polishing levels out that damaged layer of clear coat, so light reflects evenly again and the paint looks glossy rather than washed out. Depending on how much defect is present, that can mean a single polishing pass or a cutting stage first to remove deeper marks before a finishing polish.
Why We Don't Publish a Fixed Price
Two cars that look similar can need completely different amounts of correction work. One might need a light single-stage polish, while another needs heavier cutting to remove years of built-up swirling. Because the time involved varies so much, we don't post a number that would be wrong for most vehicles. Instead, we ask for a photo or a look at the paint in person and give you a real assessment based on what's actually there.
What Happens During a Paint Correction Assessment?
Send us a photo through the contact page, ideally in direct sunlight where swirl marks and haze show up clearly. We'll follow up with an honest read on what the paint needs and a price to match. On the day, we work at your driveway with access to a power outlet, using machine polishers to correct the paint in stages until the gloss is back.
Headlight Restoration
Headlights yellow and haze over for the same reason paint does: UV exposure and surface scratching build up over years. Restoration polishes that clouded layer away, restoring both clarity and, in a lot of cases, actual nighttime visibility. It's often worth pairing with a full correction visit since we're already set up for machine polishing.
Correction Before Coating, Always
If you're considering a ceramic coating, correction has to come first on the same paint. A coating applied over swirl marks and haze just seals those defects in permanently instead of fixing them. We won't apply one over uncorrected paint, which is why these two services are almost always booked together.
